Washing & care advice

How do I wash my wool blanket?

Wool has good properties that mean you don't have to wash it as often, which is good for the environment and climate. The wool is in itself dirt-repellent, so that the dirt settles on the surface. This is because the wool contains natural fats.

Tip! If you want to freshen up your wool blanket, hang it out and air it one day when it's damp outside. In this way it "purifies" itself. You can also lay out your wool blanket in clean snow and brush lightly.

                      Care advice for wool blankets

All wool has a tendency to pick up by hand. The finer the wool, the more sensitive it is. Pimples are caused by abrasion. This means that excessive loads on the blankets should be avoided, e.g. they are not suitable as a seat cushion or to cover the sofa with. To make the blankets soft and airy, they are brushed (brushed). A blanket can be ruffled several times using e.g. velcro or a steel comb.
Hold the velcro vertically and grasp both ends with your thumb and forefinger. The bend on the velcro "branches" must be in the same direction as you intend to brush. If you hold it right, it should be easy to brush, not choppy and heavy.
Brush the blanket from the inside out with long, even, sweeping strokes . Remember not to brush too hard - then it is easy to get stuck and pull away too much of the wool fibers .
Go through the blanket piece by piece until it is airy and smooth on the surface . Feel free to finish by hanging out and shaking the blanket .
