Gocken Jobs

Gocken Jobs (1914-1995) was a Swedish artist known for her floral textile designs. She trained as a ceramicist but switched to textiles during the Second World War together with her sister Lisbet Jobs. Their breakthrough came in 1945 with the exhibition ‘When Beauty Came to the Village’ at NK. In Västanvik in Leksand, they set up a workshop for hand-printed textiles and collaborated with Gävle Ångväveri. Gocken Job's iconic patterns, such as ‘Smultronblom’ and ‘Ros och lilja’, are still part of Swedish textile art today.
